The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday kicked off the dry run for the implementation of an exclusive lane for motorcycles along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

According to the MMDA, the exclusive motorcycle lane located on the third lane from the sidewalk of Commonwealth Avenue, from Elliptical Road to Doña Carmen and vice versa, was intended to reduce road crashes involving motorcycles.

The MMDA said 1,686 cases of motorcycle-related road crash incidents were recorded in 2022. Of that figure, 13 cases resulted in fatal injuries, 930 in nonfatal injuries, and 743 in damage to property.
