MANILA, Philippines — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) on Thursday warned the public against a Facebook page offering technical-vocational training and programs.
It said that a certain Facebook page named “Certified Learning & Skills-Tesda Manpower” is not connected with the agency.
“Nakarating sa aming tanggapan ang reklamo ng isang indibidwal na ang Facebook page na Certified Learning & Skills-Tesda Manpower ay nag aalok ng training at assessment at tumatanggap ng bayad. Ngunit nagbibigay ng mali-maling impormasyon at hindi maaayos na nakikipag-usap,” Tesda said in a public advisory.
(Our office received a complaint from an individual that the Facebook page Certified Learning & Skills-Tesda Manpower is offering training and assessment and receives payment. However, it gives the wrong information and doesn’t communicate properly.)
The agency further advised the public to only transact with Tesda-accredited centers and offices.
Tesda said anyone who encounters similar schemes could report it to Tesda Contact Center Unit at telephone number (02) 8887-7777, or through email contactcenter@tesda.gov.ph. — Mae Anne F. Bilolo, trainee
