MANILA, Philippines — Manila Water bags two distinctions at the 58th Anvil Awards, hosted by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), one of the premier institutions in the country in the field of public relations.
In the Gabi ng Parangal awarding ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, PRSP awarded Silver Anvil Awards to “BOW: Balita on Wednesdays” of Manila Water’s Corporate Communication Affairs Group, and to “H2O: Highland to Ocean” program of Manila Water Philippine Ventures’ operating unit Boracay Water.
“BOW: Balita on Wednesdays” is an internal online news and information program, which airs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. every Wednesdays, intended to keep Manila Water employees updated, engaged, and connected. Since its launch in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been an essential part of every Katubig’s Wednesday morning, meant to serve as a channel to foster collaboration within the organization, from top management to employees across different groups and departments of the enterprise’s operating units locally and internationally, in an engaging, entertaining, and innovative manner.
The program celebrates the people of Manila Water by highlighting their work, personal/professional accomplishments, special talents/hobbies, as well as their respective business units’ milestones. The thematic show format consists of live and pre-produced videos shown in segments.
BOW continues to contribute to strengthening internal communications, building culture and boosting engagement in the new normal especially in an enterprise like Manila Water, with service areas and business units dispersed across the Philippines and in other countries. Now on its 3rd year, the show is constantly evolving to ensure sustained engagement.
Boracay Water’s “H2O: Highland To Ocean” is a holistic, multi-stakeholder environmental program which centers on a ridge-to-reef concept. It is created to manage and ensure the protection and rehabilitation of the environment from the mainland of Malay to the island of Boracay through various activities, such as watershed management, river management, wastewater and solid waste management (Amot Amot Kita a Malimpyong Boracay or Let’s do our share for a cleaner Boracay), coastal resource management, information education communication (IEC), and governance initiatives.
Boracay Water partnered with different public and private stakeholders in Boracay for the implementation of its initiatives, from the mountains of Nabaoy (highland) where the water supply in the Boracay Island comes from (Nabaoy River and watershed), down to the ocean reefs under the waters surrounding the island. For 2018-2023, Boracay Water has allotted P2.7-M to fund projects under H2O.
Presented annually by the PRSP, the Anvil Awards is considered the symbol of excellence in public relations. The Anvil is awarded to outstanding public relations programs and tools after careful screening by select PR professionals and judging by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury.
