LUCENA CITY — Three persons were shot and killed in separate incidents Wednesday, March 1, in Quezon province.

Lucena police reported Thursday that a still unidentified male assailant armed with a .45 pistol repeatedly shot around 11:30 p.m. John Carlo Leoparte, 35, and Charisse Daen, 25, on a street corner in Barangay 6.

Leoparte died on the spot from fatal gunshot wounds, while Daen was rushed to the Quezon Medical Center but expired at the emergency room.

The police are conducting an investigation to unmask the gunman and establish the motive behind the killing.

In Sariaya town, police reported that Jaime Quirante, 58, heard gunshots near his house in Barangay Manggalang around 6:30 p.m.

When Quirante went to where the gunshot originated, he found his wife, Eva, dead from a bullet wound on her head.

The police are conducting further investigation.
