Farmer stabbed dead in drunken row in Quezon province
LUCENA CITY – A heated argument between two drunks ended with one of them stabbed to death in Burdeos town, Batangas province early Tuesday, Feb. 28.
The Police Region 4A said in a spot report that farmer Marlon Garcia was having a drinking session with fellow peasant Erick Catasan in Barangay (village) Poblacion around 12:30 a.m. when a heated argument ensued between the duo.
The altercation led Catasan to repeatedly stab Garcia in his abdomen using an unspecified bladed weapon. The suspect fled after the incident and left his victim dead on the spot.
The report said the argument was about “taking of seashells” but did not provide further details. The tragic incident was caused by a “misunderstanding” aggravated by drunkenness, the police said.
The police launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect.
