Cloudy skies, rain to continue over parts of Luzon — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon, locally known as the “amihan,” is expected to continue overcast skies and rain over several parts of Luzon on Sunday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa.)

“Malaking bahagi [ng Luzon], lalo na sa eastern section, Bicol Region, Quezon, Cagayan Valley, Aurora at Ilocos Norte ay makakaranas ng mauulap na kalangitan na may mahinang pag-ulan dulot ng northeast monsoon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina.

(Several parts of Luzon, especially the eastern section, Bicol Region, Quezon, Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Ilocos Norte will experience cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.)

Meanwhile, no low pressure areas or storms are currently being monitored by Pagasa, with none expected to form in the coming days.

Gale warning is then currently raised in several parts of the country’s seaboards, specifically in Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon including northern and eastern coast of Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, and Zambales.

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Sunday are as follows:

  • Metro Manila: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 15 to 23 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  23 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 22 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 20 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
