LUCENA CITY — Police arrested a “big time” illegal drug trafficker, who yielded P1.5 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Cabuyao City in Laguna province on Friday, February 24.
Armed with a search warrant, police anti-narcotics operatives swooped down on the house of Virgilio Amacan Jr., an identified pusher on the government’s drug watch list, in Barangay (village) Marinig at around 12:32 p.m.
The raiders reportedly found 10 plastic sachets of shabu and a plastic container also with meth, weighing a total of 250 grams, the Police Region 4A said in a report released Saturday.
The illegal drugs have an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,500,000, the report said.
The police also found a weighing scale and shabu-sniffing paraphernalia at the scene.
The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, police officers in Santa Cruz, also in Laguna province, raided the house of Herminio Bonza Jr. in Barangay Sto. Angel Sur on Friday morning.
The law enforcers, also armed with a search warrant, seized a digital weighing scale and 18 sachets of shabu worth P51,000 from the suspect’s house.
The two suspects were placed under police custody and would face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
