MANILA,Philippines – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday said that its Post Clearance Audit Group (PCAG) recognized last year’s top taxpayers and importers.
Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said the BOC recognizes its stakeholders for their contributions to the revenue generation efforts of the government.
Based on their settlement of deficient duties and taxes, Mondelez Philippines, Inc., Japan Tobacco International, Inc., and Glaxosmithkline Philippines, Inc. were the top importers of 2022, said the BOC.
The BOC listed the other top ten taxpayers as follows: Unilever Philippines, Inc., Chevron Philippines Inc., Nestle Philippines Inc., Novartis Health Care Phils Inc., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Fast Retailing Philippines Inc., and Toyota Motor Philippines.
Nestle Philippines Inc. and Wyeth Philippines Inc. had consistent voluntary disclosures to the BOC’s Prior Disclosure Program, said the BOC.
Likewise, the JT International (Philippines) Inc., Mondelez Philippines Inc., and Henkel Philippines Applied Technologies Inc / Henkel Philippines, Inc. also were also the top taxpayers based on voluntary disclosure.
Rubio noted that he will consider the feedback of all of their stakeholders for better service.
“We will ensure to heed the feedback of our stakeholders and consider their evaluations to improve Customs services and procedures for efficient trade facilitation,” Rubio said. (Denver Godezano, INQUIRER.net trainee)
