MANILA Philippines —The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has extended the suspension of the collection of the “feed-in tariff allowance” (FIT-All) to bring down the cost of electricity.

The collection of FIT-ALL, a tariff imposed on electricity grids and added  to consumers’ electric bill, will be deferred for another six months from March 2023 until August 2023, the ERC said in a statement on Thursday.

The ERC said it re-evaluated its FIT-ALL fund balance and found that it will suffice to cover for the said period.

The move by the ERC is said to bring down the cost of electricity by Php0.0364 kWh.

The ERC issued a resolution last November 16, 2022  which suspended the collection of FIT-ALL from December 2022 to February 2023.

Concerned agencies were also directed to report their implementation of the suspension no later than March 31 to ensure strict compliance.(Vance Chan, Inquirer.net, trainee)
