MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 tectonic earthquake jolted Quezon province on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
State seismologists said the temblor occurred at 11:09 a.m. and that its epicenter was located 83 kilometers northeast of the town of Jomalig. It had a depth of focus of 2 kilometers.
According to Phivolcs, the quake registered varying intensities and instrumental intensities in the following areas:

Intensity IV or “moderately strong” vibrations – Polillo and Patnanungan, Quezon

Intensity II or “slightly felt” vibrations – Jomalig, Burdeos and Guinayangan, Quezon; Quezon City; Makati City; Muntinlupa City; Malolos, Bulacan

Intensity I or “scarcely perceptible” vibrations – Mauban, Quezon

Instrumental Intensity IV – Polillo, Quezon

Instrumental Intensity II – Dingalan and Baler, Aurora

Instrumental Intensity I – Malolos City and Plaridel, Bulacan; Mercedes, Camarines Norte; Gapan City and Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija; Infanta, Alabat and Guinayangan, Quezon
Philvolcs said no damage and aftershocks may be expected from the tremor.
