LPA, northeast monsoon, shear line to cause rain over PH
MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA), shear line, and the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will trigger rain over the country on Monday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last spotted at 195 kilometers north of Legazpi City in Albay.
The LPA has a potential to become a tropical cyclone.
“Itong low pressure area na ito at itong shear line, ito ang magdadala ng mga ulan dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said in a public weather forecast.
(This low pressure area and shear line will continue to bring rain showers here in the eastern section of Luzon.)
