Over 200 former, present officials from Davao provinces join Lakas-CMD
MANILA, Philippines — Over 200 present and former government officials from Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte have joined the Lakas-CMD party, boosting its membership all over the country to over 3,000, according to House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
Romualdez, who is the party’s president, presided over a mass oath-taking of new Lakas-CMD members on Friday in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
He said that the new members are in good company, considering that it is already the biggest political party in the House of Representatives, supporting the agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“I’m glad that you are here with us and that you have joined the party,” Romualdez said.
“Maraming, maraming salamat for your attendance and participation and now your involvement with Lakas,” he added.
Article continues after this advertisementThe mass oath taking was witnessed by key members of Lakas-CMD, such as long-time member, former president and now House Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, party chairman and Vice President Sara Duterte, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, and Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro.
Local members of Lakas-CMD who were present during the oath-taking were Davao Oriental Rep. Nelson Dayanghirang, Davao Del Norte Rep. Aldi Dujali, Davao del Norte Vice Gov. Carlo Uy, Davao de Oro Vice Gov. Tyron Uy, Tagum Mayor Rey Uy, Monkayo Mayor Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora, former Davao del Norte Gov. Rodolfo Del Rosario, former Davao del Norte Gov. Anthony del Rosario and former Davao de Oro Gov. Arturo Uy
