2 arrested, P300,000 worth of drugs confiscated in separate Pampanga ops
MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested two “high-value targets and seized over P300,00 worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations in Angeles City and Mabalacat City on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 said that Jhaez Vincent Carlos, 25, was apprehended in a drug sting conducted in Brgy. Balibago, Angeles City.
The suspect yieled one and one-half (1 ½) bricks of dried marijuana leaves, nine pieces of small to large transparent plastic with zip lock sachets containing suspected dried marijuana and Kush weighing around 1.5 kilograms amounting to P180,000.
Meanwhile, suspect Paulo “Popoy” Feliciano, 38, was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Brgy. Dau, Mabalacat City.
Police claimed Feliciano was a member of the Sputnik Criminal Gang.
He was found to be in possession of three plastic sachets carrying suspected shabu that weighed 25 grams with an estimated worth of P170,000.
Police said the suspects are being prepared for court referral with the proper charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Art II of Republic Act No. 9165.
“With the constant arrest and neutralization of illegal drug personalities as well as the unremitting commitment of Central Luzon police force to stop its proliferation, illegal drug traders will have less opportunity to carry out their nefarious activities,” PRO3 director Cesar Pasiwen said. – Kimberly D.
