6 arrested, over P300 K shabu seized in Bicol drug stings

LEGAZPI CITY — Police arrested six drug suspects and seized over P300,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte on Wednesday.

In Naga City, Camarines Sur, Marko Oliva, 28, and Gonzalo Bañaria, 56, were arrested in Barangay (village) Concepcion Grande at around 10:16 p.m. after selling a sachet or five grams of shabu worth around P15,000 to an undercover agent, Police Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said.

The suspects yielded 30 grams of shabu worth an estimated P204,000.

In Barangay Abella, also in Naga City, Cesar Balindan Jr., 38, was arrested at around 11 p.m.

Bongon said a sachet of shabu worth P2,000 was confiscated from Balindan.

In Daet, Camarines Norte, Rechilda Caballero, 32; Resty Kijan, 46; and Dennis Magana, 41, were arrested in a drug den in Barangay 1 at around 11:30 a.m.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said authorities recovered nine sachets or 13 grams of shabu worth an estimated P88,000 and drug-using paraphernalia.

Magana is a member of Gutierrez Drug Group operating in the province. 

All arrested suspects are facing a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
