AFP’s Northern Samar troops have new commanding officer

TACLOBAN CITY — The 803rd Infantry Brigade (IB), which operates in Northern Samar, has a new commanding officer.
Brigadier General Efren Morados was installed on Monday, Feb. 13, replacing Brigadier General Perfecto Peñaredondo who was named as the new assistant division commander of the 8th Infantry Division based in Catbalogan City, Samar.
Morados served as the deputy commander of Peñaredondo and was the commanding officer of the 803rd IB from July 30, 2021 to February 13 of this year.
Morados belonged to the Philippine Military Academy’s Tanglaw-Diwa Class of 1992.
Col. Erwin Rommel Lamzon, assistant division commander for reservist and retirees affairs, presided over the turnover rites on Monday.
Lamzon lauded the soldiers of the 803rd IB not only for their campaign against insurgency but also for helping people during disaster situations in the province.
