MANILA, Philippines — Over 100 aftershocks were reported after the magnitude six earthquake in Masbate on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
As of 1 p.m., 135 earthquakes were recorded, of which only 16 were felt, according to Phivolcs.
Phivolcs said the magnitude of the aftershocks ranges from 1.5 to 4.2.
The Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred 10 kilometers southwest of Batuan town in Masbate at around 2:10 am with a shallow depth of ten kilometers.
Only minor damage has been recorded after the quake, the Office of Civil Defense said.
