DOTr kicks off construction of Metro Manila Subway’s Anonas, Camp Aguinaldo stations

 MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Monday officially started the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project’s (MMSP) Anonas and Camp Aguinaldo underground stations in Quezon City.

“Today is another critical step towards that aspiration towards the convenience and comfort of Filipino commuters towards a transport infrastructure that catalyzes economic rebound,” DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista said.

Once the subway is completed, DOTr said that trips to and from Valenzuela City and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will be cut to 45 minutes.

The DOTr also said that the subway will be capable of accommodating 519,000 passengers daily.

Pre-construction works on the said stations began in Nov. 2021, in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
