MANILA, Philippines — Two people were hurt after suspected New People’s Army rebels allegedly attacked a Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit in Maco town, Compostela Valley early Thursday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Friday.
The injured were identified as Andy Camporedondo and Rosena Camporedondo.
An M203 grenade was launched in the confrontation in Malamodao village but missed the target and instead hit a house, the report said.
The victims were ferried to Davao Regional Hospital for immediate treatment, it added.
