LEGAZPI CITY — A high-value drug suspect and his live-in partner were arrested on Wednesday (Feb. 8) during a buy-bust operation in Naga City in Camarines Sur province, police said.
In a report, Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said Ricky Dela Torre, 50, and Estefanie Atanacio, 47, allegedly sold a sachet of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P1,500 to an undercover agent in Barangay (village) San Felipe at around 5 p.m.
Bongon said Dela Torre was previously arrested for the same offense on August 10, 2020, but his case was dismissed.
Dela Torre was tagged as a bigtime drug suspect, while his partner was also included in the illegal drug watchlist.
During the body search, police also confiscated four sachets of shabu from the suspects.
Bongon said a total of 2.5 grams of shabu worth P17,000 were recovered in the operation.
The suspects were facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
