In an advisory, Governor Ricarte Padilla said the suspension of classes would cover all levels in private and public schools.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the earthquake at 9:46 p.m. on Tuesday. Its epicenter was at 15 kilometers northeast of Tinaga Island, in Vinzons town.

Phivolcs said the Intensity V was felt in Mercedes town; Intensity III in Ragay in Camarines Sur; Intensity II in Tabaco City in Albay, Iriga City in Camarines Sur, Guinayangan and Polillo in Quezon; Intensity I in Legazpi City in Albay, and Lopez, Gumaca, Mulanay, and Mauban in Quezon.

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of focus of one kilometer, Phivolcs added.

Gremil Alexis Naz, Office of Civil Defense Bicol spokesperson, said no damages were reported in the affected areas.

Naz said the initial report revealed it was a 5.1 earthquake but it was later downgraded by Phivolcs to 4.6 magnitude.

On Jan. 17, the province was also rocked by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake.
