Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama is staying in the city for the holidays to supervise Lenten activities and make sure that “I will be within reach in case something happens.”
Rama said he will be visiting different churches for security inspection and pray as part of the Visita Iglesia activities.
On Friday, he will watch the staging of the annual Buhing Kalbaryo or passion play at the San Nicolas Parish grounds and walk the entire stretch of V. Rama Avenue for the different stations of the cross.
Rama said he will also be at the Guadalupe church grounds to witness the re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the highlight of the Buhing Kalbaryo.
Like Rama, councilor Margot Osmeña and husband, Rep. Tomas Osmeña, will be spending the holidays in the city.
Margot said that while her husband stays home, she will attend a recollection with Redemptorist priests today until Saturday. Councilor Eduardo Rama Jr. said he and his family would participate in the Visita Iglesia.
