KILLER COP POSTS BAIL
THE Cebu City policeman who shot dead a pongko pongko vendor walked out of jail last Tuesday after posting bail.
SPO2 Cresente Dacillo, 42, posted bail in the amount of P40,000.
Dacillo is facing homicide charges after shooting dead Primo Callego Jr. in barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, last month.
Dacillo claimed he acted in self-defense when he shot Callego in front of the policeman’s sari-sari store where the victim was buying a can of sardines.
He said it was Callego who drew a gun first, forcing him to open fire.

IMPORTED pork meat was seized from the Carbon Market in Cebu City last Tuesday for being improperly frozen.
The 10.5 kilos of meat were owned by stall vendors Jolly Cabangangan and Lim Araw-Araw.
Meat inspectors from the Cebu City’s Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF) made the confiscation.
They said the stall owners violated administrative order No. 22 which requires meat vendors to properly handle frozen imported meat.

LABORER ELECTROCUTED
A 26-YEAR-OLD construction worker was electrocuted while working at an annex building in a Mormon church in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.
Albert Abella of Davao City was declared dead at the Eversley Hospital where he was taken after the acccident which happened before noon last Tuesday.
Police said Abella was a steel worker of Brosco Construction and was working on the annex building of the church.
Co-workers told police that Abella accidentally touched the tip of a live extension wire.
Abella’s body shook violently before he fell on the floor. His chin hit a metal angle bar.

MAN HANGS SELF
A 33-YEAR-OLD man was found hanging dead in his aunt’s house in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police said there were no signs of foul play in the death of Dexter Igot.
The man used a nylon rope in hanging himself, said police.
Igot’s older brother, Danny Boy said he found the victim around 1 p.m. last Tuesday.
Danny Boy told police that Dexter left their house after he was scolded by his father for a still unknown reason.
Danny Boy said they waited for Dexter to come home for lunch but he didn’t show up.
The older brother said he tried looking for his brother by asking his neighbors and friends but no one knew where Dexter went.

MAN NABBED FOR SHABU
A MAN was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Bacayan, Cebu City.
Jericho Amodia Falcon, 30, allegedly sold a P200 pack of shabu to a poseur buyer when he was arrested last Monday, said police.
Police said two more packs and drug paraphernalia were seized from Falcon.
The man said he was forced to sell shabu to support the studies of his children.

MANDAUE FIRE RAZES HOUSE
A HOUSE was razed and a duplex apartment was damaged when a fire broke out in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
The fire broke out at 10:55 a.m. last Tuesday. It started at the house of Mariano Gabiana and spread to an apartment owned by Emilio Pezons.
No was at home when the house of the Gabianas caught fire.
Family members were at the hospital where Mariano is confined.
The fire was contained in five minutes, said FO3 Nilo Cosido of the Mandaue City Fire Department.
Property damage was pegged at P40,000.
