GAMU, Isabela—A couple died after a hand grenade exploded inside their bedroom in Barangay District 3 here early Thursday (Feb. 2), police said.
Maj. Rickson Cabauatan, Gamu police chief, identified the victims as Charles Medrano, 40, a farmer, and his wife Criselda, 43, an elementary teacher.
Village officials found the bodies of the couple sprawled inside their bedroom after neighbors reported the explosion.
District village chair Victor Gamayon said the couple had an argument before the incident. It was not clear, however, why the couple had a hand grenade in their possession.
The woman earlier filed a violence against women complaint against her husband.
Police said they were still investigating the incident.
