MANILA, Philippines — Since the revival of Bayanihan e-Konsulta program of former Vice President Leni Robredo five months ago, the Angat Buhay Foundation said at least 6,000 patients were able to get assistance through the free teleconsultation platform.

In a statement, Angat Buhay said more than 1,000 doctors, nurses, and non-medical personnel volunteered to conduct the virtual checkup of patients under the program between July and December 2022.

Over 800 COVID-19 care kits had also been distributed to beneficiaries across Metro Manila, it added.

“Ano mang karamdaman at hamon ang dumating, kayang-kaya nating harapin basta’t nagbabayanihan tayo,” said Angat Buhay Executive Director Raffy Magno.

(No matter what illness and challenges we face, we can face them as long as we are working together.)

The Bayanihan e-Konsulta program, launched by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) under Robredo’s leadership, is a teleconsultation program that aims to assist both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.

The service ended under the OVP on May 31 last year as Robredo stepped down from office after her term ended.

But the program was relaunched in July, now a project of Robredo’s Angat Buhay, drawing in at least 1,100 volunteer sign-ups within 20 minutes since its revival was announced. Kimberly D. Albaño, INQUIRER.net intern
