MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday announced that its Bayanihan E-Konsulta program is set to conclude its service on May 31.

Bayanihan E-Konsulta is a teleconsultation program launched by Vice President Leni Robredo and the OVP on April 7, 2021, to help address the surge in COVID-19 cases.

“Nais po naming ipaalam na magtatapos na ang serbisyo ng Bayanihan E-Konsulta (BEK) sa Martes, May 31, 2022,” the OVP said in a statement.

(We would like to inform you that the Bayanihan E-Konsulta (BEK) service will end on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.)

(We sincerely thank everyone who joined us in this initiative to deliver the necessary medical assistance to our countrymen during the COVID-19 pandemic.)

Thousands of volunteers – medical professionals and non-medical – joined Bayanihan E-Konsulta  and provided needed help to decongest hospitals by virtually linking patients and healthcare professionals for consultations.

(To all our volunteer doctors, nurses, other medical professionals, and the non-medical volunteers who have given their time and skills to make our program a success thank you very much.)

The OVP also expressed its gratitude to its partners who helped them have a wider reach in the country.

(Together, we prove: Nothing is impossible for a people united to lift each other.)

As of May 22, active coronavirus cases stood at 2,252, based on the government’s COVID-19 tracker. Since 2020, the country has confirmed 3,688,941 coronavirus cases.
