2 teens killed in motorcycle-truck crash in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY — Two teens on their way home from Cadiz City died Sunday night when their motorcycle hit a truck parked near the Access Road in Hacienda Baga-as, Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The fatalities were cousins Nataniel Bendoy Conde, 18, and Alvin Pabela Bendoy, 19, both of Hacienda Mariano, Barangay Bactic, Silay City.

Their motorcycle hit a parked Fuso Truck that was facing north. The driver of the truck was Elmar Tapalla, 28, of Barangay Inapoy, Mabinay, Negros Oriental, the police report said.

The motorcycle driver and passenger fell on the pavement, causing injuries, the police report said. They were declared dead on arrival at the Talisay City Health Center.

The cousins, who came from the Dinagsa Festival, stopped at Barangay 12 in Talisay, before heading home to Silay. Reports said they were advised not to proceed as it was late and the roads were slippery due to the rain, but they insisted on going home.
