MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army (PA) on Monday resumed its search and rescue operations in the Sierra Madre mountain range in Isabela to locate a missing Cessna 206 aircraft with six people on board.
The three search and rescue teams from the 95th Infantry Battalion and 5th Infantry Division were deployed in the jungles of Barangay Dicaruyan in Divilacan town, which was identified last weekend as the possible site where the aircraft may have gone down.
“Two squads composed of nine personnel and ten personnel each are scouring the hinterlands of Barangay Sapinit in Divilacan while the third squad, composed of 15 personnel, is currently searching the jungles of Barangay Dicaruyan also in Divilacan,” the PA said in a statement.
The three teams are joined by a team from the Cagayan Valley Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
A Cessna single-engined plane (RP-C1174) went missing after leaving Cauayan Airport in Isabela on the afternoon of January 23.
