MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration deported more than 1,300 foreign nationals who violated immigration laws in 2022, the agency reported on Sunday.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said a total of 1,339 erring foreigners were expelled from the country and subsequently blacklisted by the agency last year.

Topping the list of deported nationals were Chinese with 1,104 deportees, followed by South Koreans with 87, Vietnamese with 39, while Americans and Nigerians had 19 and 12, respectively.

Tansingco said the foreign nationals committed various violations, including overstaying their visas, violating the conditions of their stay, and being undesirable aliens.
