8 drug suspects nabbed, over P115,500 ‘shabu’ recovered in Bicol
LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities have arrested eight suspected drug personalities and confiscated more than P114,500 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate operations in the Bicol region on Thursday, January 26.
Albay police spokesperson Lt. Kharren Formales said in a report that Julio Cuya Cleofe, 46, was arrested for allegedly selling a sachet of shabu worth P500 in Barangay (village) Tigbi in Tiwi town at around 8:30 p.m.
During a body search, law enforcers also recovered five more sachets of shabu from the suspect, police said.
In Polangui town, Rosalie Losa, 42, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Agos at around 4:50 p.m.
Police reportedly confiscated from her a sachet of shabu, the buy-bust item sold at P5,000, and two big plastic sachets containing five grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P34,000.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Guinobatan town, Jose Ocbina, 56; Demar Moraleda, 26; and a 17-year-old boy were arrested during a search operation in Barangay Ilawod at around 2:30 p.m.

In Lagonoy town in Camarines Sur, Judy Boy Abante, 30, and Jocel Buenafe, were arrested in Barangay Loho at around 11:55 p.m.
Lagonoy police said Abante sold a sachet of shabu worth P1,000, while during the body search, eight more sachets of the same illegal drugs were recovered.
Police also recovered a sachet of shabu from Buenafe’s possession.
In Paracale town in Camarines Norte, a suspect identified as “Tiko,” 30, was also arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bagumbayan at around 5:30 p.m.
A total of two grams worth P12,000 were confiscated from the suspect.
Police said all suspects would face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
