MANILA, Philippines — Two weather systems will continue to bring cloudy skies and rain in parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

A low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao – specifically, 575 kilometers east of Davao City – will trigger rain in the Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region. But it still has a low chance of intensifying into a storm, according to the state weather bureau.

“Sa buong maghapon, inaasahan natin na magpapaulan itong LPA dito sa may Eastern at Central Visayas, gayundin sa may Caraga at sa may Davao Region,” said Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo.

(Throughout the day, we expect this LPA to bring rain here in Eastern and Central Visayas, as well as in Caraga and in the Davao Region.)

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have relatively fairer weather despite the possibility of localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening, he added.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (locally known as amihan) will continue to prevail and bring rain over Eastern Luzon, particularly, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon and Bicol Region.

As for the rest of Luzon, clear weather may be expected although there may still be chances of isolated brief rainfall.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi naman ng Luzon magiging maaliwalas ang panahon at may mga tiyansa ng pulo-pulong pag ulan at pag ambon,” said Del Mundo.

(Weather will be clear for the rest of Luzon, with chanches of the weather will be clear with chances of isolated rain showers and drizzling.)

It said wave as high as 2.8 to 4.5 meters can be expected in these coasts.

As for the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Wednesday, Pagasa issued the following forecast:
