BACOLOD CITY — Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has denied the pleadings filed by four employees of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) who were dismissed from service for allegedly using a government vehicle beyond office hours while engaging in a drinking spree at a restaurant in Victiorias City.
Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas Jr. on Monday, January 23, said the governor denied the motion for reconsideration lodged by engineers Ramelo Letran, German Abihay, and Rein Palacios, and project development assistant Maria Luisa Abaño of OPA.
Nellas said the governor found no new evidence that would change his earlier ruling.
“The January 3 decision is supported by evidence on record and the position paper of the respondents was taken into account,” he said.
The four respondents have the option to file an appeal before the Civil Service Commission.
