2 alleged thieves survive slay try in Antipolo City

LUCENA CITY — Two alleged thieves survived a shooting incident Friday in Antipolo City in Rizal province.

The Police Region 4A reported that Rey Tarusa and Kenjie San Juan were walking on their way home at 8:40 p.m. in Barangay San Jose when a still unidentified male armed with a handgun suddenly appeared and repeatedly shot them.

The gunman fled after the shooting. His targets survived the slay try but were wounded. They were taken to Cabading Hospital for treatment.

The investigators, citing information from village watchmen, said the victims were “involved in the series of robbery and theft (incidents) in the barangay.”

An investigation is ongoing.
