P13.6M ‘shabu’ seized from couple in Naga City

Police seized more than P102,000 worth of "shabu" (crystal meth) and marijuana from four suspected drug traders in separate operations in Naga City, Camarines Sur province, early Monday, Nov. 28.

LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics team reportedly ecovered P13.6 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from a couple in a buy-bust operation in Naga City in Camarines Sur province on Thursday night, Jan. 19.

Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said in a report that Nelynn Tobias, 40, and her husband, Ernan, 45, residents of Barangay (village) Patimbao in Santa Cruz town in Laguna, allegedly sold 500 grams of shabu worth P1.1 million to an undercover agent in Barangay Tabuco at 9:11 p.m.

Bongon said lawmen recovered an eco-bag containing two sachets of shabu weighing 1,500 grams or 1.5 kilos, gray sling bag containing a caliber 9mm pistol with magazine, four live ammunition and boodle money during a body search and another search in the vehicle.

A total 2,000 grams or 2 kilos of shabu were confiscated from the suspects, who were both included in the illegal drugs watch list, Bongon said.

Based on the initial investigation, the suspects were also operating in other provinces, Bongon added.
