MANILA, Philippines – Over P89 million worth of shabu concealed in foil snack pouches were seized while a female suspect was arrested, police said on Thursday.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said that a controlled delivery, conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, led to the arrest of Jolle Anne Cuer, 25, after she received a package of 44 self-sealing snack pouches containing an estimated P89.590 million worth of shabu on Wednesday afternoon.

A controlled delivery, according to the Dangerous Drugs Board, is an investigative technique that allows the delivery of an unlawful or suspect consignment of any illegal drug to be used as a basis for the arrest.

SPD said the parcel with some 13,175 grams of shabu was declared as Grandma’s Chinchin snack packs and shipped to Cuer by a certain Micheal Olanrewaju from Nigeria.
