MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have arrested two men for alleged illegal possession of firearms and explosives in Las Piñas City.

In a report, the Southern Police District (SPD) said suspects Roel Andrade, 41, and Arturo Kalim, 43, were collared on Wednesday night in a buy-bust operation in front of a fast food restaurant at Samata Village, Barangay Talon Singko.

Seized from the suspects were one rifle grenade and one .38 caliber pistol with four live ammunition, according to the SPD.

Andrade and Kalim are currently under the custody of Las Piñas City police as complaints are being readied against them for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9516, or the Illegal Possession, Manufacture, Dealing In, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunitions or Explosives. — Niña Cuasay, trainee
