LEGAZPI CITY — Classes at all levels in Camarines Norte province will are still suspended Thursday due to the threat of heavy rain brought by the shear line.
Governor Ricarte Padilla ordered the same suspension Tuesday, Jan. 17, and Wednesday, Jan. 18, in anticipation of aftershocks and assessment of the buildings and public facilities after the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that hit the province.
A earthquake rocked the province at 5:57 a.m. Tuesday, with its epicenter located 12 kilometers southeast of Tinaga Island in Vinzons town.
In an advisory, Ricarte said the province would experience heavy rains based on a forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said the shear line affects the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, while the northeast monsoon affects the rest of Luzon.
