SAN MARIANO, Isabela — A 42-year-old butcher in this town died after he was attacked by his nephew using a bolo after a heated argument on Monday (Jan. 16), police said.
Investigators identified the victim as Romeo Cabildo, who died while being treated at the San Mariano Medicare Hospital.
Police said Cabildo scolded the suspect, identified as Lito Cabildo, 32, for running late in bringing a butchered pig to their meat stall.
The elder Cabildo was reportedly irked and hacked his nephew when the latter tried to make an excuse.
When the victim tried to hit the younger Cabildo again, the suspect retaliated and also attacked his uncle with a bolo.
The suspect sustained a wound to his face and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. INQ
