SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—The COVID-19 positivity rate in this province during the second week of this month dropped to 4. 1 percent, according to the independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research.
In its tally on Monday (Jan. 16), OCTA Research said the province’s weekly COVID-19 positivity rate was already low between Jan. 7 and 14.
The province’s positivity rate stood at 8.4 percent in the previous week.
According to OCTA Research, the virus positivity rate refers to the percentage of tests that turn out positive.
Data showed that during the holidays from Dec. 31 to Jan. 7, the weekly positivity rate in Zambales slightly increased.
As of Monday, the province tallied 12 new COVID-19 cases, raising to 12,661 its total number of infections since 2020.
