MANILA, Philippines — Former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam has been released from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center following her acquittal from a murder case.
On Tuesday, PNP public information office chief Rederico Maranan confirmed that Cam had been released from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame following her acquittal along with her son Marco Martin and five others — Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Juanito de Luna, Rido dela Curz, and Bradford Solis — for the 2019 murder of Batuan, Masbate town vice mayor Charlie Yuson III.
They were cleared of the charge by Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 41.

“Yes, na-release siya (Yes, she was released),” Maranan said in a brief phone call with INQUIRER.net.
To recall, Martin lost to Yuson’s son, Charmax Jan, in the 2019 Batuan mayoral race.
In October 2019, Yuson was shot dead while breakfasting in an eatery in Sampaloc, Manila, with his aide Alberto Alforte and Wilfredo Pinedawhen.
Yuson’s relatives had accused Cam of masterminding the assassination, saying the gunman was previously seen at a resort in Masbate that she owned, but Cam denied the allegations.
