Albay town suspends classes due to incessant rains
LEGAZPI CITY — The local government of Sto. Domingo town in Albay province suspended classes on Monday (Jan. 16) due to the threat of continuous rains.
Mayor Joseling Aguas Jr. said the suspension of classes at all levels would cover public and private schools.
In its 5 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the low-pressure area was last sighted some 180 kilometers east of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
Pagasa said that the LPA, and the shear line, would bring overcast skies and scattered rains to the Bicol region, Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and Metro Manila.
The weather agency also warned of moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast that would cause rough seas. INQ
