DOH: 459 new COVID-19 cases; active infections at 11,779
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 459 new COVID-19 infections were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, with active cases slightly dropping to 11,779 from 11,786.
Based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker, the new infections brought the country’s COVID-19 caseload to 4,065,910 nationwide, with 3,988,680 recoveries and 65,451 deaths.
These new infections were higher than the cases recorded on Wednesday, which were only at 326.
Metro Manila still leads the list of regions with the most cases in the past two weeks with 2,519 cases, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) with 1,211 infections, and Central Luzon with 581.
Quezon City leads the list of areas with the most cases at 587 infections, followed by Cavite with 335 and Manila with 320.
