Pagasa sees storm-free, rainy weekend
MANILA, Philippines — Despite the presence of a low – pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), no tropical cyclone is expected to form until the weekend, according to the state weather bureau on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is monitoring two LPAs, one of which has already exited PAR, while the other one is 50 kilometers east of Roxas City, Capiz.
“Magandang balita po dahil hanggang weekend, wala tayong inaasahang bagyo na papasok sa Philippine area of responsibility,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja.
(We are not expecting a tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this weekend.)
Cloudy skies and rains, however, are expected in the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) region, Bicol region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga region and Davao region, according to Pagasa’s weather bulletin.
