Double whammy: Two LPAs to bring widespread rain to PH— Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) now inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) are expected to bring rain to most parts of the country, the state meteorologists said on Wednesday.
The two LPAs are located 405 kilometers southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and 125 kilometers east of Guian, Eastern Samar, said Daniel James Villamil, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Villamil said the two LPA have a low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone over the next 24-48 hours.
However, the LPA off Samar would bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Caraga region, according to Pagasa’s 4 p.m. weather update.
