MMDA to deploy 730 personnel during Feast of Black Nazarene

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday said that it will deploy 730 personnel beginning Jan. 6 to 9, to assure an orderly Feast of the Black Nazarene celebration.

MANILA, Philippines —  The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday said that 730 personnel would be deployed Jan. 6–9 to maintain an orderly Feast of the Black Nazarene celebration.

“Bilang paghahanda sa Pista ng Itim na Nazareno, ang MMDA ay magdedeploy ng 730 personnel upang tumulong sa Traffic Management at Clearing Operations mula January 6 hanggang January 9,” said MMDA in a statement.

(In preparation for the Feast of the Black Nazarene, the MMDA will deploy 730 personnel to assist in Traffic Management and Clearing Operations from January 6 to January 9.)

According to the MMDA, personnel from Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group (SCOG) will be deployed for crowd control, personnel from the Western Traffic Enforcement (WTED) will be deployed for traffic management, while street sweepers from the Metro Parkways Clearing Group (MPCG) will also be deployed to maintain cleanliness.

The MMDA will install 25 portalets along the Black Nazarene celebrations, while Task Force Special Operations (TFSO) will help MPCG clear the route.

The Road Emergency Group (RSG) will assist in emergencies, while Metrobase CCTV cameras in the command center will monitor activity.
