MANILA, Philippines – Several local government units suspended classes in public and private schools on Wednesday, January 4, due to inclement weather.
Classes were suspended at all levels in:
- Libon, Albay
- Palo, Leyte
While classes were suspended at select levels in:
- Libertad, Antique (preschool to senior high school)
- Odiongan, Romblon (preschool to senior high school)
In its early Wednesday morning bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said a low-pressure area entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday night and will bring cloudy skies and rain in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The state weather bureau also said that the northeast monsoon (locally termed amihan) affecting Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Mimaropa will bring overcast skies with rain in these areas.
