NTC forms task force to monitor SIM card registration
MANILA, Philippines — The National Telecommunications Office (NTC) on Wednesday announced that it would create a task force to monitor the implementation of the SIM card registration law after glitches marred the first day of registration on December 27.
“May crineate na ang NTC na task force on monitoring nitong implementation nitong SIM registration. Mayroon po tayo niyan sa central office na task force team at secretariat. Sa mga regional offices din naa\min, nagtalaga din kami ng mga officials namin para sila ang maging coordinating focal persons po natin,” said NTC Deputy Commissioner Jon Paulo Salvahan in an interview on TeleRadyo.
(The NTC created a task force to monitor the SIM registration. We have the task force present in the central office, as well as a secretariat. In our regional offices, we have delegated officials to become coordinating focal persons.)
When asked about what the NTC will do for provinces with weak signals, Salvahan also said that an ad hoc committee would be formed to tackle the issue.
