DepEd warns public vs scam artists

/ 05:10 AM December 27, 2022

The Department of Education (DepEd) has cautioned the public about individuals using the agency’s name to solicit contributions and donations. In an advisory, Education Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla said the DepEd and its executive committee did not authorize anyone to solicit money. “All concerned are hereby advised to be cautious and not to deal with unscrupulous person/s or entities asking for donation, personal information or account confirmation using the name of the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance, any DepEd executive committee or official, or any DepEd office,” Sevilla added. Any related concerns may be sent to the DepEd Public Assistance and Action Center via email at [email protected] or landline numbers (02)8636-1663 and (02)8633-3942. The public can also report to the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance via [email protected] or (02)8633-3942. —Jane Bautista
