Active COVID-19 cases, deaths still rising in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The number of active COVID-19 cases and the death toll related to the viral disease continued to increase in this province in the past six days, local data showed Thursday, Dec. 22.

According to the provincial health office, the number of active cases stood at 36, with 27 new cases recorded from Dec. 15 to 21.

Four patients who tested positive for the disease died during the same period, raising the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 728.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, the province has logged a total of 12,618 COVID-19 cases, 11,854 of which have recovered from the disease.
