10 alleged communist rebels yield in Central Luzon

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Ten alleged members of communist rebel groups in Central Luzon surrendered to government forces, authorities said Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Among them was identified only as “Amparo,” who voluntarily surrendered to the police in this province, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

Amparo reportedly belonged to the underground mass organization operating in Zambales.

The other rebel returnees were from the provinces of Bulacan, Tarlac, Bataan, and Olongapo City, the PRO3 said.

Most of them also turned over their firearms, ammunition, and hand grenades.
