P1.4 million ‘shabu’ seized in Cavite, Rizal drug busts

Two alleged big-time drug traffickers were arrested on Saturday night, November 12, and yielded over P251-million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Imus City in Cavite province.

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested five suspected illegal drug traders and seized more than P1.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in buy-bust operations Sunday in Cavite and Rizal provinces.

The sting operation in General Trias in Cavite resulted in an armed encounter at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday in Barangay San Francisco, the Region 4A police reported.

The target drug pushers, Dalis Muhajil and his two associates, however, managed to flee after the shootout.

Police recovered 100 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P680,000 and a digital weighing scale left behind by the suspects.

A manhunt operation was launched to arrest the suspects.

In Rizal, anti-illegal drug agents in Antipolo City busted at 7:25 p.m. Merly Viray, Andrelei Viray, Tanny Bagundang and Manuela Bagundang in Barangay Bagong Nayon.

Authorities confiscated 50 grams of meth worth P340,000 from the suspects .

The police also seized a Honda CRV believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

In Rodriguez town, police collared at 9:35 p.m. Emiliano Grande in Barangay San Isidro.

Grande, an alleged drug group member, yielded 68.46 grams of shabu with  a DDB value of P465,528 and a digital weighing scale.

The five suspects were detained at the local police jails and will be charged of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
